Managing and developing talent

1. Introduction

Developing knowledge and skill as well as managing the talent is necessary for the learner to gather in depth knowledge and understanding about one particular topic (Collings, Scullion and Vaiman, 2015). For the individuals, it is necessary to improve own talent and capabilities to achieve career success in near future (Davis et al., 2016). The aim of the study is to share the experience of myself and evaluate the knowledge and understanding for talent management. In this regard, I try to improve my understanding and share the experience that I have gathered during the course and this reflective paper provides me a scope to evaluate my understanding and talent which I have gain thrum gathering more knowledge and understanding. In this regard, I have attended Herbalife Nutrition office for having experience on the presentation and management of the company. I try to understand the company background and products and services of the company that the management team provide to the people worldwide. Through communicating with them, taking active part in the presentation and meetings, I just tried to acknowledge the working process and I have started working with the Herbalife for part time job.

2. Discussing the experience

Talent management is important for improvement of own skill and abilities, managing commitment, arrangement of the working practice at the organisation through utilising town knowledge and capabilities to perform better (Collings, Scullion and Caligiuri, 2018; Noe et al., 2017). Through talent management, I have tried to improve my career and achieve professional growth in near future where I focus on managing talent and developing own skill and knowledge through gathering experience.

2.1 Evaluating the learning events

I have been working more than 2 years in the Herbalife Nutrition where I have gathered experience in client handling, convincing the clients for making effective purchase decision for the products and services of Herbalife. In this regard, I have gathered experience through communicating with the client. In this regard, more communication and cooperation with the stakeholders are effective for me to improve my knowledge and understanding for future. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is another important scope through which I focus on gathering more professional skill to deal with the customers and maximise the profitability and sales volume of the firm. In CPS, I try to gather real life experience and gain more in depth understanding and knowledge through field work where I focus on real life study where I can practice practical understanding about the customers in the market where I can peach the customers about the quality products and services of the firm.

In addition to these, in the last year, I have participated the training session in Scottish Spectacular, where everybody was sharing their experience and knowledge with each other. In this regard, I also prefer in managing my talent to take active part in the training session where I try to gather knowledge and experience of other colleagues through which I can improve my understanding about the real life experience and perception of the customers in the market. I have gathered the knowledge that the customer’s relationship management is necessary for Herbalife as the customers are the major stakeholders for enhancing the performance and maximising the profitability and sales volume. Hereby, marketing ideas and convincing the clients are the skill that I have gathered through improving my experience in customer’s relationship management and providing information about the organisational products and services. I try to improve my communication and cooperation with all the customers and build strong corporate relationship which in turn helps me to understand the market demand and shopping trend of the customers.

I also gathered the experience about the choice and preferences of the customers in the market which would improve my talent and skill in serving a vast range of customers across the globe. In this regard, I also focus on convincing the customers where in the busy street of Glasgow I try to peach the products and services of Herbalife to the customers so that they can understand the benefits of having the products of Herbalife and this further helps to improve word of mouth and expand the services of Herbalife. Communication and building strong relationship with the customers depends on improving trust and loyalty among the customers and in this regard, I try to improve my knowledge and experience in managing the customer and developing direct contacts with them. Hereby, real life experience as well as the organisational training and development program is helpful for me to gather experience and manage the customers proficiently (McDonnell et al., 2017). I try to focus on improving my proficiency to deal with the customers as well as maximise the values of the company through performing better in the market through talent management.

2.2 Evaluating as a learner

I have started the journey with the company Herbalife where I aim at gaining professional knowledge and managing my talents and understanding in maximising the values of the organisation as a whole. As a learner, I try to focus on training and development program for gaining more in sight about the products and services. I try to improve my communication and interactive skill to peach the product and convince the customers. Moreover, I try to provide free sample of the products as well as provide proper information so that the people can understand the value of the products and its benefits. The general meetings and training program in the company Herbalife are also beneficial for me to improve my knowledge and understanding where I try to explore more market opportunities to expand the business across the globe. The major aim of the organisation is to boost up their performance in the market efficiently and expand the business across the globe where I also focus on expanding their operations and strengthen their customer’s base for long run by improving my contacts with the customers and improving trust and loyalty among the consumers in the market.

Through the training and development program as well as general meeting, the managers and leader try to provide proper speech and information for improving my capabilities as well as enhancing the marketing skill so that it is possible to attract more audiences in the market (Collings, Scullion and Vaiman, 2015;  Davis et al., 2016). In this regard, in order to perform well, I prefer to have proper training program form where I can gain my knowledge and understanding as well as I also prefer to group learning activities where I try o share my experience and convince other colleagues to share their experiences so that we altogether can improve our skill and manage our talent collaboratively. Hereby, I as a ;earner, prefer cooperative learning where I try to share each other’s experience from which I can improve the real life skill and abilities to achieve the professional success in near future. In addition to these, as a learner, I also try to cooperate with each other and seek to get proper advice from my seniors and supervisors who are more experienced and they have proper knowledge and understanding about the customer’s perception. In this regard, I try to collaborate with the managers and supervisors for gaining deep in sight about the way of improving performance and contributing in the organisational success.

Conclusion

As per the above discussion, it can be seen that, I try to gather more in depth knowledge and understanding to retain the customers in the market and contribute positively in the organisational success. I try to reflect in this paper through which I am successful to share my experience with Herbalife. I am happy to get proper training and development program in the organisation which are effective or me to improve my skill and knowledge about the customer’s perception, market trend and demand of the consumers in the recent era, which in turn helps me to improve my professional skill and enhance my performance in the organisation. As a learner, I prefer to attend all the training and development program in the organisation from which I can gain deep insight about the operational activities of the company as well as about the products and services so that I can convince the customers to make effective purchase decision for the products of Herbalife and strengthen the customer base of the company. On the other hand, as a learner, I prefer to share my experience and attend the general meeting for sharing each other’s experience where I focus on collaborative learning for talent management and achieve professional success. In near future, I will focus on improving my decision making skill to take active part in the organisational decision making practice so that I can contribute positively in the company to maximise their profitability. Additionally, I try to improve my interactive skill to develop more contacts with the customers across the international markets so that I can convince them and strengthen the customer’s base where I will be focusing on improving trust and loyalty and building strong relationship with the customers.
