Human resource management strategic planning is an approach of the conglomerates for manging people at the workplace where the managers and leader of the organisations try to recruit the right employee for the company who can handle the operational activities efficiently and contribute in achieving the organisation’s objectives (Bratton, and Gold, 2017). The strategies of managing human resource is important for the businesses to retain long term employees and motivate them to perform better for achieving the organisational pre-specified goals and objectives. The aim of the study is to analyse the organisational vision and mission and its impacts on developing effective human resource strategic planning at the organisation Nike, Inc. Through this study, it is possible to understand the vision and mission of the company Nike and acknowledge its impacts on the human resource management strategic planning where the company tries to develop appropriate management planning for retaining the long-term staff members for their company so that it is possible to serve the customers in a better and unique way. The study also provides a scope to analyse the human resource management practice which widens the opportunity for the company Nike to maximise the values of the stakeholders including the employees, customers and others such as government shareholders, managers, social communities and suppliers.
Nike, Inc. is an American multinational corporation that is engaged in designing, manufacturing and developing the sportswear including footwear, apparel, accessories and equipment related to sports. Through appropriate marketing and sales of the company, it is possible for Nike to conduct their business across the international markets around the globe and gain high market share and effective competitive advantage in the sports accessories industry where the company is successful in providing innovative and quality products and efficient services to the customers. The main products of the company are such as athletic footwear and apparel, sports equipment and recreational products which in turn help to inspire the athletes and also the sport lovers across the globe. The company is also proficient in serving the customers with creative products, innovative designed and efficient service through which Nike is successful in retaining the customers across the globe which helps the business to secure future sustainable development (Nike, Inc., 2018a).

The net income of the company is approximately $5.25 billion in the last years and total revenue is more than $ 35 billion which are the major strengths of the company where Nike tries to invest more and conduct more research for developing innovative design and efficient technique to serve the customers in a unique way. total number of employees of the company is approximately 74400, where the company aims at developing effective strategic planning for the employees to retain them for long run and motivate them to contribute in achieving the success of the company. Price per share of the company is also increasing year to year and the company is successful in enhancing their p0erformnace at the global sport apparel market and gain high market share around the international markets.

Human resource management is one of the effective tactics of the conglomerates for managing the employees at the workplace an enhance the performnace of the company as a whole (Jones, 2017). Human resource management strategic planning is hereby effective for the companies through which the leader and managers manage the people at the workplace and create values for them as the employees of the organisations are the main stakeholders behind the success of the firm as the employee play a crucial role in enhancing performnace and serve the customers of the company in long run efficiently for successful maximisation of the consumer’s values (Bailey et al., 2018). The strategic planning, there are several strategic planning of the managers for managing the people at the workplace. The strategy of proper recruitment and selection is effective for the company to hire the right employees at the workplace who can manage the organisational responsibilities well and run the operational activities efficiently (Wilton, 2016). In addition to these, providing performnace related pay and rewards as well as appropriate salary structure are also beneficial for creating values and maximising wellbeing of the staff members which in turn helps the organisations to fulfil the basic needs of the employees and motivate the staff members to contribute with their full potential for enhancing organisational performnace (Stewart et al., 2018).

The leaders and managers also try to provide proper training and development program as well as induction training to the employees so that he staff can understand the organisational working practice and improving their performnace through continuous learning and development by gathering in depth knowledge and technical skill. Hereby, training and development is also another strategic planning for managing human resource of the organisation (Taylor, Doherty, and McGraw, 2015). Moreover, in the recent years, the organisations try to manage cross cultural activities and enhance transparency and accountability for treating all the employees fairly without discriminating them on the basis of their different values, ethics, culture and religion. This further enhance cooperation at the workplace where all the employees are feeling valid to work with each other and maximise the performnace of the company as a whole. The strategic planning of encouraging employee’s innovation at the workplace and maintaining harmony as well as providing freedom to the employees are also effective for creating values for the staff and give them a suitable environment to work as per their convenient (Brewster and Hegewisch, 2017). Continuous encouragement to their innovation and creativity as well as motivating them through providing financial and non-monetary rewards at the workplace are effective for manging people at the organisations and retaining them for long run. relationship with all the employees are also necessary and, in this regard,, the organisations try to build strong corporate relationship with all the staff members which fulfil the love, respect and self-actualisation need of the employees as per the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs (Nankervis et al., 2016).

As per the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, there are physiological needs, safety needs, belongings and love need, self-esteem and self-actualisation and the managers of the businesses are focusing on maximising the needs and preferences of the employees in order to manage the people at the workplace so that they can retain the employees for long run by satisfying them and creating values for them (Brewster et al., 2016). In this regard, monetary rewards, proper salary structure, yearly increment and bonus are effective strategic planning through which the employees can fulfil their physiological needs of food, water, shelter and warmth. On the other hand, the managers at the workplace tries to meet the safety needs of the employees by creating the workplace environment secured so that the staff can feel free to work (Schwarz, Hall, and Shibli, 2015). By building relationship with all the employees, the companies try to meet the love and belonging needs and apart from that, the human resource managers focus on maximising self-actualisation and self-esteem through improving prestige, maximising feeling of accomplishment and encouraging continuous innovation and creativity of the employees. These are the major strategic planning through which the managers at the workplace try to manage the people and retain them for long run for enhancing the organisational performance and maximising the corporate objectives of the films (Reiche et al., 2016).
The policies and practice of human resource management at Nike are effective for managing the human resource of the company where the organisation mainly focuses on building strong relationship with all the employees and creating values for them, the company aims at improving engagement with the staff members which in turn helps to increase trust and loyalty among the employees for contributing with full potential to maximise the corporate objective of Nike to inspire the athletes across the world. The training session and induction process at every factories of Nike are effective for he employees to maximise their skill and abilities to perform better at the workplace. In addition to the above strategic planning, the organisation Nike developed and launched new technology named Nike U in 2012, which is effective for providing training to the employees in the areas of merchandise, retail, leadership and management where the employees can perform better and cooperate with each other for maximising the corporate objective of Nike. In 2014, Nike U has been updated with 40 courses in 24 languages and in the recent years more than 80% of the employees at the organisation have their account in Nike U to increase their knowledge and technical skill so that they can enhance their abilities to perform better and contribute in archiving the corporate objective of Nike successfully. On the other hand, the organisation Nike acknowledge that employee retention is the key success factor of the company which enhance the suitable growth of the company in near future and in this regard, the company Nike focuses on retaining the employees by providing monetary and non-monetary rewards and appreciation to the employees so that it is possible for the company to create values and maximise wellbeing of the staff at the workplace.
The financial rewards are another effective tactic of the company to retain the employees in long run and build strong corporate relationship with all the employees. appreciation, feeling of accomplishment and continuous encouragement of the creativity and innovation of the employees at the workplace are effective for the company Nike to create and motivate the staff members to perform better. Additionally, open acknowledgment, team work, respect for each other and positive working culture with cooperation and communication among the staff, leaders and managers are beneficial to manage the people at the workplace of Nike. In addition to these, the company Nike also focuses on proper empowerment of the employees for encouraging them to take responsibility of the organisation and achieve success. The leader focuses on maximising the feeling of authority among the employees through proper empowerment in the decision-making practice of the company Nike, where the staff members can share tehri views, provide different and innovative ideas in front of others and express their suggestions to others so that the best possible solutions can be developed to perform better and secure future sustainable development. Hereby, daily management and monitoring of the employees, safety and security of the staff, teamwork, transparency, leadership and management and internal and external communication are the major success factors for Nike to manage the employees and enhance their technical skill and abilities to perform better and contribute in achieve success (Nike, Inc., 2018b).
Organisational culture plays a crucial role in managing the human resource of the organisation and in this regard, Nike focuses on improving organisational culture by managing transparency and accountabilities, increasing positive interaction, respect for each other, giving values for everyone’s culture and high communication which provide freedom and harmony to the employees to work efficiently by developing an effective team at the workplace. The ethical and legal responsibilities of the human resource managers are also effective where the managers of Nike try to follow the ethical rules of Minimum wage, performnace related pay, maximisation of employee’s values and Health and Safety Act at the workplace so that it is posisbel to manage the employees at the workplace and retain them for long run in order to enhance the organisational values and performance. The company Nike create suitable environment to work and the benefits such as health insurance, life and accident insurance, retirement savings scheme and disability insurance are the strategic planning of the company Nike to create values for all the employees and maximise their safety and security needs. Additionally, the company contributes a lot in different schemes such as employee stock purchase plan, paid vacation and holidays, paid sabbaticals, transportation allowances and discounts, tuition assistance, onsite fitness centre and product discounts which are beneficial for improving satisfaction level of the employee where the employee try to contribute with their potential at the organisation to maximise organisational values (Nike, Inc., 2018b). These activities are effective for creating values for the employees at Nike. Effective culture, managing ethical and legal responsibilities of the manager towards the employees and cooperation are the success factors for Nike to retain the skilled workforce for long run to perform better and achieve the organisational aims.

The company Nike makes it possible through developing sustainable and creative products by building a creative and diverse global team and making positive impact on the social communities around the globe. the organisation Nike also aims at enhancing innovation and creativity in the sport apparel industry where the organisation creates a diverse team by proper partnership with all the employees at the workplace. The team members at the workplace are empowered, diverse and inclusive ion the company and contribute with their full potential for developing new innovative design and delivering high quality products to the customers for creating values and inspire the customers to fulfil their dreams and this in turn helps to strengthen their customer’s base and gain highly competitive advantage across the internal sport market. The mission statement of the company ‘To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete around the world’ is effective to represent the strategic goal of the company which is to reach out the global leisure and sports footwear, apparel and equipment market. The major components of the mission statement of the company are such as inspiration, innovation and every athletes and the mission statement is hereby has a great influence on the company’s human resource management strategy where the leader and managers of Nike try to manage the people through creating values for them and encouraging their creativity so that they can develop new creative design of the products and deliver high quality products to the athletes which can inspire the athletes successfully (Nike, Inc., 2018b).
